About us
There are 14 computers available for library users, including NHS staff, connected to the university network. We have 2 colour printer-copiers for A4 or A3 paper. These can also scan to email. Imperial College London WiFi is available to all registered library users.
Next to the library is a computer cluster with 62 computers and 2 colour printer-copiers accessible to all registered library users with a swipe card. NHS users requiring swipe access please email cxissuedesk@imperial.ac.uk.
Our collection covers general medicine, including medical textbooks, as well as nursing and professions allied to medicine. We also have a small collection of non-clinical titles.
Most journals are now available electronically but we also have some print journals from 1990 onwards.
Special collections
The archive collections of Charing Cross Hospital (1818-1974) and the Charing Cross Hospital Medical School / Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School (1823-1997) are at the Abdus Salam Library.
You can find listings of items in these collections on the AIM25 database.
Study rooms
We have 2 group study rooms in the library for use by users when not booked for tutorials, seminars or staff meetings. The rooms can accommodate 12 people and each one has a PC connected to a large monitor.
To make a booking, contact the library during staffed opening hours or email cxissuedesk@imperial.ac.uk.
There is also a room available to book in the PC cluster. You can book this room using Library Bookings. Bookings are restricted to one per day, for a maximum of two hours, up to 3 times a week.
