Meet Thomas (Tom) Willson our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Tom has had the pleasure of working at Imperial for over 20 years. In 2012, after initially starting in an IT support role for the university, Tom moved into Cyber Security and never looked back.
Tom achieved a BSc (hons) in Computation and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He also holds a GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) accreditation.
The CISO function includes Security Operations, Cyber Security Architecture and Identity and Access Management.
Vision
Our vision is for security to be a technology enabler for the University, allowing members of Imperial to access all their data and services quickly, safely and securely from any location and at any time to facilitate world leading teaching and research.
Leading with transparency and inclusivity in mind Tom collaborates with stakeholders from each Faculty to co-chair the Joint Cyber Security Group and discuss initiatives to help keep the Imperial community safe.
