The course will also provide an introduction to the Hindi script, everyday vocabulary, the basic grammatical structures of the language and aspects of Indian culture, although these will be introduced in a gentle way to get you used to the forms and structure of the language.
Whether you plan to visit India on holiday, or do business with the Hindi-speaking world, or you have family connections to India, or maybe you are just fascinated by Indian culture, this course is the perfect starting point for learning Hindi.
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Greet and respond to a greeting
- Express gratitude and apology
- Use short everyday phrases
- Introduce yourself - e.g. your name, nationality and what you do for work
- How to introduce a friend
- Ask about family, work, health, and weather
- Talk about your family members
- Ask questions using interrogatives - ie. how who, where, and what
- Recognise and be able to write some Hindi script
