Milla joined Imperial College in September 2013 for her undergraduate degree. She graduated with a first class Meng degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2017 after a 4 months exchange at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in her final year.
Her master’s thesis on ‘Impeding Hydrogen Transport In Zirconium Oxide Layers Through Doping’ was based on work performed jointly with the Yildiz group at MIT and Prof. Ryan’s group at Imperial College.
Her PhD research is centred on investigating the autocatalytic under-deposit corrosion behaviour of Fe-based systems in H2S and Steam Regenerator environments. The project aims to develop monitoring and testing approaches for under-deposit pitting corrosion and explain the underlying mechanisms.
