Jim Hickey is a second year PhD student on H2S corrosion of high strength steels for oil and gas applications. The main focus of his studies is understanding the interaction of applied stress, hydrogen content and microstructure on the resultant embrittlement phenomena.
Previous to this, Jim studied Materials Science with Nuclear Engineering (also at Imperial) and completed a two year graduate scheme at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy.
