This Mathematics Programme grant uses the transformative tools and unifying ideas of mathematics to move the physics of metamaterials into research areas such as elasticity, acoustics, structural mechanics and diffusion where metamaterials have barely been investigated, but where the impact and applications are vast.
Our research contributes at the interface between existing metamaterials research and purely mathematical research, and to the current research landscape on metamaterials, where existing state-of-the-art technology is being enhanced by the tools, techniques and unifying vision that mathematics provides.
