Silvia Galli
Silvia studied for her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Molecular Biology in Pavia (IT). She moved to Cambridge (UK) for her PhD in Medical Science at the CRUK CI under the supervision of Prof Sir Shankar Balasubramanian. There she gained expertise in the biology of quadruple helical DNA structures known as G-quadruplexes and developed an antibody probe specific for DNA G-quadruplexes for genomic studies in living cells.
Silvia is interested in the role of G-quadruplexes as epigenetic features involved in cancer and aging.
